A Very Special Day...

Today is my two-year anniversary of being with my Mama. She says it's a pretty special day and she gave me a special Himalayan Dog Chew to try!  Ohhhh YUM!  It's yak cheese!  There's nothing I love more than cheese!  Well, that's not true... I love my Mama more than cheese.

Mama says it's strange to think that I've only been with her for 2 of my 4 years, she says that it seems that I've always been a part of her life - she can't imagine her life without me.  I feel that same way.  I can't imagine being away from my Mama, although I do love it when we travel about to friend's houses!

We have had a lovely few days of sunshine, here and there. Oh, how I love soaking up sunbeams. They make my everything feel good!

Mama says the Weatherpeople are talking about SNOW this week.  Goodness!  If it does snow, I hope it doesn't hurt all of the tender little green plants coming up outside.  I've been keeping an eye on them every day and they seem to be ready for warm weather, not freezy snows!  Maybe Mama will cover some things up, just like she does me when I'm chilly?

It's been a quiet past few weeks around our house.  Mama hurt her back (slipping in the garden on that icky, slimy mud that gets stuck on my paws - I tell you, it's NO GOOD!) and it's taking a long time for her to heal.  She's spending a lot more time than usual laying down and while I sure do like her being home with me, I don't like it when she isn't feeling well.  I worry.

Then, yesterday, my "forefinger claw" got stuck in the metal grate on the back door when I was alerting Mama that I was ready to come inside and that nasty metal tore some of my claw right off!  Ohhh how it hurt.  I licked and licked and licked to try and lick the ouch away, but, it didn't work.  Mama soaked my paw in something a little stinky and it did feel a little better after that, but it was still bleeding a bit.

One time, I ripped something Mama called a "dew claw" clean off my paw, when I was playing with friends.  man, that really HURT!  But, before I knew it, I was all better and I didn't have to wear my special shoe anymore.  I'm sure that this ouch will heal even faster.

I hope all of the ouches of all of the peoples and pets in the world heal quickly and that we can all get back to enjoying many sunbeam naps and snuggleloves with our friends and loved ones...

Love,
Melvino

  1. Hi Melvino
    Happy Gotcha Day!
    You are sooooo cute!
I hope your ouch heals fast too. Oh my goodness, that must have really hurt! And your mamas back!
Oh I know that is not good. My mama- not the mommy, but my mama- her back is hurt and it is a real bummer.
Your little boot that you had to wear--- it looked like it was made with love.

When the sunbeams come back out, I know they will make you and your mama feel better.
Lets hope the weather man is wrong,,, we are not in the mood for snow- nope... we are in the mood for spring.

  2. Oh, sweet Tweedles, hello! Thank you so much for your sweet message. I always love to hear from you... your words make my heart so happy. :)

I'm so sorry to hear that your Mama has troubles with her back. That's not good. I know you must do your best to help her get along and snuggle her with healing loves when she's not feeling good. I do so wish that there was more we could do for our Mamas - don't you?

That boot you saw - my Mama looked high and low to find something that would keep my bandages and owie from getting muddy - it sure did the trick! I didn't much like her putting it on me, but, I think it did help me heal faster. Mamas know best. :)

On that note - did you see that Walter the Pug's Mama, Heather, made him a Pug Ugg! It is SO COOL! http://pugugg.blogspot.com/ Leave it to Native Medicine (and wisdom) to create something that made his foot soooo much better. My Mama cried when she read the story... I got a little glimmer in my eye, too. I hope we can meet Walter and Heather someday. They inspired us!

Did you get the Big Snows last week when I did? I expect that you did. I hope your paws didn't get too cold when you went potty! It was soooo cold here! Mama covered the lemon tree, the gardenia and a couple other tender plants with blankets to keep them from freezing up dead. I was so glad that they were OK when she took the blankets off on Sunday.

I'm with you, Tweedles... Ready for spring! It's soooo rainy right now. We have what looks like a creek in our back yard - it makes me think of you and your creek. But, there are no fishes in mine and soon, it will dry up. :)

I hope that you and your Mama and Mommy are well. Keep sending your special notes to the Universe with me, will you? "Spring or BUST!"

    Love,
    Melvino
